Buffer is used to raise total alkalinity in your pool water. Buffer will prevent erratic changes in the pH level of the swimming pool water. Buffer will help chlorine in the pool work more efficiently. Buffer raises the total alkalinity of the pool water preventing any corrosion that could. be caused by low total alkalinity. Waite about 20min to swim after adding Buffer.
