The Science of AOP
When germicidal UV-C light interacts with ozone, it produces hydroxyl radicals (•OH) the most powerful oxidizers known. This process, known as the Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP), destroys bacteria, viruses, pathogens, and contaminants almost instantly.
Hydroxyl radicals are also effective against chlorine-resistant organisms like Cryptosporidium, Giardia, and E. coli.
